An interesting perspective...

I am reading Randy Alcorn's book called Heaven. First off, I must say, I am a fan of this guy. I have read two of his other books, The Treasure Principle and Safely Home and enjoyed both... especially Safely Home (a must read for any China fans). Heaven is quite different than the other two books and I am not too far in it but I am enjoying it too. I wanted to share an interesting quote.

" If any righteous man among the Christians passes from this world, they rejoice and offer thanks to God, and they escort his body with songs and thanksgiving as if he were setting out from one place to another nearby."

It was written in AD 125 by a Greek man named Aristides. This is an interesting perspective on the death of a believer, just thought I would share.

Hey Friends!

"Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer's; he makes me tread on my high places. To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments." (Habakkuk 3:17-19)

Hey friends,
I just wanted to give a quick update on my life since graduation. Really, not too much has changed since graduation as far as job status or stuff for next year. I have been looking for a teaching position in the College Station Area for 5 months and have had only one interview. This is really a trying process and definitely discouraging. I looked for a summer job for while I was in Denton, but I was unable to get one because of my teaching classes. So, right now, I spend a lot of time alone and at home. This is a really big switch from the busy college life and living with 8 other girls. I am taking alternative certification classes so that I can teach middle school next year. I am enjoying the classes and I am excited about being a teacher! Mark leaves for the Middle East in less than two weeks and I am pretty excited about him going, but it is also hard knowing that I won't get to talk to him for 6 weeks. Hopefully, by the time he comes back, I will have a job!

That is a quick update on somethings going on in my life. The verses posted above are kind of the theme verses for this summer.
